The River in October

We went to the Colorado River the first weekend in October and we had the most wonderful time.  The Moody's came up, along with JB's parents.  We had so much fun that weekend that we decided to extend our vacation a few more days and take advantage of the warm water and weather.

CJ had so much fun with his cousins, he especially loved eating popsicles out on the patio with them.
Miss B playing on the patio.
CJ checking out the turtle that the Moody's brought with them.  He loved it.
Here is the little surfer dude paddling for waves at the river.  What?  JB drove by a sandy beach with the wave runner and created mini waves.
Here he is surfing on one of the miniature waves.

Daddy and his girl surfing behind the boat.  I think she actually liked it once she got going.  She did not even cry.
Making cookies is always one of the favorite river activities.  This was the highlight of CJ's night.
C-monkey was watching his dad all week stand up paddling, so he decided to try it himself.  He actually did pretty well.  He could paddle down a few houses and back.  He only needed help turning around, his balance was pretty incredible.
I'm training them young to be surfers.

More paddling action shots.
JB, the lone man on the river.
Sweet smiley girl with her big brother.

I love family vacations because they bring us close together and create family bonds.
